Do you agree with these top 20 American sports?

Monday, October 26th, 2009

There is no question that the top five should be exactly where they are, however there more?

  1. American Football – This is by far the greatest of all the sports and the most viewed.
  2. Baseball – A sport that nobody knows how to play, unless you already know how to play it.
  3. Basketball – Without a doubt this sport should be at this position, if not higher.
  4. Hockey – Americans fully appreciate this sport, and it is a massive crowd bringer.
  5. Golf – You can thank Tiger Woods for making this one so popular.
  6. Wrestling – Americans gather in their millions to watch this, but is it a real sport.
  7. Tennis – Well, Venus and Serena kind of say it all really, plus the likes of Roddick.
  8. Skateboarding – America really started this up as a sport, now it is worldwide.
  9. Surfing – Was really brought to the world by America.
  10. Ice Skating – This is taken very seriously over the world, and in America.
  11. Boxing – Is starting to catch up with Wrestling, but needs more time and more frequent fights.
  12. Soccer – Has only just really started to happen for the Americans, but they are keen to push forward with it.
  13. Archery – A guaranteed final spot in the Olympics for the Americans with the likes of Geena Davis, training harder than ever.
  14. Volleyball – Great fun for everyone, especially those watching.
  15. Cycling – A Strong and athletic sport, but never really took hold of the nation.
  16. Track and Field – This is a great set of sports, culminated into one, and the Americans excel at it.
  17. Horse Racing – Still very much considered the English sport, but the Americans have some very good if not better riders.
  18. Rock Climbing – The Americans have really taken to this, and they do have some of the best possible scenery for it.
  19. Extreme Sports – The Americans love this, especially when things go wrong, not sure why though.
  20. Auto Racing – this should be higher on the list, especially Monster Truck and Rally racing, but hard to place.

Are these the sports you would have suggested? Can you do better? What a great way to find out – try Las Vegas holidays or New York holidays to really find out
